1. General information
In this basic training subject the student does not need previous knowledge of Italian, as it is a level A1 (CEFR), elementary level of communicative use of the Italian language. The subject is based on face-to-face classes (presentations and theoretical-practical explanations of the phonetic-phonological, lexical-grammatical and discursive aspects necessary to start learning Italian. Students will work on oral comprehension, oral production, written comprehension and written production from written, oral and audiovisual materials.
These approaches are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/es/ ), specifically, the learning activities planned in this subject will contribute to the achievement of Goals 4, 5, 10, 16 and 17.
2. Learning results
- Communicate orally and in writing at an elementary level in Italian.
- Identify the nature, purpose and structure of simple documents written in Italian.
- Understand very simple oral and written texts in Italian.
- Synthesize, transfer and exchange elementary oral and written information in Italian.
- Write in Italian simple expressions and phrases in their field of specialization.
3. Syllabus
Block 1. Grammatical contents: alphabet and pronunciation; definite and indefinite articles; present indicative; gender and number; simple and articulated prepositions; possessives
Block 2. Lexical content: greetings and farewells; nationalities; the house; food and drink; the human body; space and movement; chronological time; numerals; leisure and sports.
Block 3. Communicative content: introducing oneself; talking on the phone; requesting and giving information; meeting someone; describing people, things or situations; writing a letter.
Block 4. Cultural contents: geography, gastronomy, music and cinema.
4. Academic activities
The teaching-learning methodology comprises 2.4 credits of face-to-face nature and 3.6 credits of training activities, structured as follows
* Theoretical sessions
Phonetic-phonological, lexical-grammatical and discursive aspects will be exposed and clarified with materials in Moodle. * Practical sessions in the classroom
The skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing) will be worked on through grammatical and lexical activities, oral and written comprehension, and oral and written production
* Individual tutoring and group seminars
Questions on and preparation of supervised and autonomous activities.
* Projection and viewing of audiovisual material.
* Completion of the obligatory final work
Production of three written compositions on the topics covered.
5. Assessment system
The expected learning outcomes will be measured by the following assessment activities:
Continuous assessment system(first call)
* Written test: grammar and vocabulary exercises and written and oral comprehension and production (60%). It is graded out of 100 points and is passed with a minimum of 65/100. The following will be assessed: spelling, grammatical, lexical and discursive correctness. * Oral test: a monologue and a dialogue between two classmates (30%). It is rated out of 10 points and is approved with a minimum of 5, . Correctness, fluency, lexical proficiency, coherence and interactionwill be assessed.
* Work: elaboration of 3 written compositions (10%). The grade is added if tests 1 and 2 are passed. The following will be assessed: correctness (spelling, grammar and syntax), lexical proficiency, coherence and interaction..
Global assessment system(first and second call)
* Written test: grammar and vocabulary exercises, written and oral comprehension and production (70%). It is graded out of 100 points and is passed with a minimum of 65/100. The following will be assessed: spelling, grammatical, lexical and discursive correctness. * Oral test: a monologue and a dialogue between two classmates (30%). It is rated out of 10 points and is approved with a minimum of 5, . Correctness, fluency, lexical proficiency, coherence and interactionwill be assessed.
